Sapelo Island

Sapelo Island is home to the best nature has to offer on Georgia’s coast.  Accessible only by boat, you are required to make ferry reservations well in advance at the Sapelo Island Visitor Center. The island is well known for Hog Hammock, the only remaining community of descendants of slaves that once worked the plantations on the Sea Islands.  The Wallow is a new 6 bedroom guest house located in Hog Hammock and offers all of the conveniences of home, but seemingly worlds away.  For larger parties, Reynolds Mansion, is the perfect setting for group meetings, educational seminars and more. Step off the ferry boat on Sapelo Island and step back in time.
