You can search the world over for better mountain-grown Sorghum Syrup, but you won’t find any to compare with the syrup of the Blairsville area of Union County. Celebrate the Art of Sorghum Syrup Making! Activites include Arts & Crafts, Syrup Making, Greased Pole Climbin, Biskit Eatin' and Log Sawin'. Sorghum Festival Parade is among the Georgia Mountains biggest parade and takes place on the first Saturday of the Festival. Bands, floats, marching units and other crowd pleasers weave their way through Downtown Blairsville starting at 11am.
