The Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Columbus Business Improvement District, UPtown Columbus, Inc., and the City of Columbus invite you to mark the beginning of the holiday season with the Fourth Annual Broadway Holiday tree lighting ceremony, Friday December 3, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the 1100 block of Broadway in historic Uptown Columbus, Georgia. Admission is free and holiday treats will be available. Choirs will herald the season alongside a visit from Mayor Jim Wetherington and Santa to do the honors of lighting the tree. Organizers have arranged to have snow created in order to guarantee a “white Christmas” for young and old alike. And with a little help from the Pine Mountain Wild Animal Safari, Santa’s reindeer will fly in from the North Pole just for this event.
