Friday - Sunday, August 21 - 23, 2009 - Bushcraft is the art of using natural materials and primitive skills to improve camping and backpacking. Instruction will include shelter construction, water gathering, fire by friction, natural camo and more. Bring a backpacking tent, water or filter, pocketknife and food for the weekend. Be prepared for a 3-mile hike. No chairs, coolers or alcohol. Register in advance. $40 plus $5 parking. 706-657-4050.

  • National Trails Day Trail Work - Cloudland Canyon

    All ages and abilities are welcome to participate in maintaining a section of the 45-mile trail system. One lucky volunteer will win a ParkPass! Tools available. Please bring water, snacks, appropriate clothing, sturdy closed toed shoes and work gloves. Meet at the Visitor’s Center parking lot.

    Guests will have the opportunity to join the park's campground hosts on an old-time hayride. Guests of all ages are welcome. Be sure to dress warmly and bring a camera for the fall colors. Hayrides depart twice a day; check at the Ranger station
