Saturday, Mar 27, 2010 / 1 PM to 3 PM - Volunteer opportunities include serving as tour guides, assisting with special programs, working with maintenance personnel and assisting with public relations. A tour of the site will also be offered. 706-655-5870.

  • Memorial Day Weekend Swim the Warm Springs

    Swim in the historic pools built by President F.D. Roosevelt as a place for therapy. Normally kept empty for preservation, the shallow pools will be filled with naturally warm spring water. Tickets may be purchased over the phone with credit card. Space is limited. Handicap Accessible.

  • Rosie The Riveter and D-Day Remembrance

    6/9/2012

    Veterans of several wars will meet and greet guests and sign autographs for children. FDR portrayer will deliver the 1944 D-Day prayer, and Carol Cain will portray Rosie the Riveter. Kellys Zeroes, a living history group, will display equipment used by soldiers during WWII. $8-$12. 706-655-5870.

    A contest will be held for the person who looks like President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Four age groups. Judging will start at 11:00 AM. Registration Fee: $20 per participant. 706-655-5870. Handicap Accessible.

  • Dig into the Past - Little White House

    Visitors will have the opportunity to bring items for an Archaeologist to identify. Children will be able to learn the techniques and tools of artifact discovery as well as how to map an artifact on a grid. Tools provided. $8-$12. 706-655-5870. Handicap Accessible.

  • FDR and Stamp Collecting

  • Nautical Program - Little White House

    One of President Roosevelt’s hobbies was sailing. Activities will be on hand to share FDR’s love of sailing. There will be the opportunity to make a boat out of recycle materials, learn the history and workings of a sextant, and participant in a rain gutter race and much more. $8-$12. 706-655-5870.
