The Georgia Peanut Festival pays tribute to Georgia's favorite legume every year in Sylvester, Ga. On the third weekend in October, peanut lovers come together at T.C. Jeffords Park for family-oriented activities. Peanut festivities include one of the largest parades in the Southeast, a beauty pageant, and arts and crafts. Most importantly, you’ll taste yummy peanut treats. (Did you know that every jar of Peter Pan peanut butter is made in Sylvester?) Meanwhile, don’t miss the steam locomotive "Ole Engine 100," more of Sylvester’s public parks and its historic Main Street architecture.
