    Wedding Coordinator is not friendly

Blackstock winery was my top pick for my wedding because it was beautiful and it seemed to me that the staff was very friendly. They were not very expensive and I felt like I had some flexibility to do a lot of the things I wanted. I had my deposit written out and was about to send it when I realized I had not asked about their military policy. I did not think this would be an issue because most venues have a policy that if military obligations, like deployment, comes in the way of the wedding day then it would be possible to move the wedding date. Knowing that it was a chance that my fiancée could get deployed because he is active duty Marine Corps we wanted to make sure we had that safety net. I asked the wedding coordinator, at this time her name was Dianne, and at first she didn’t answer the question at all so I had to re-ask. When I did re-ask she quickly said no, that they would be at a loss of money. Well we were very concerned about the issue and my fiancée emailed her himself, she did not respond at all to him. After waiting a week without hearing from her, I decided to email her asking for an update and for the owners email address. She emailed me a day or so later telling me that I could find his email online, and that when they had an issue similar this this it was declined, and told me to not give my hopes up. I felt like she was very unprofessional, and did not want to even act like she cared. I would have still booked with them had she not made us feel so uncomfortable working with her. Throughout her emails she kept them very short and not very informative. So if you are looking to have your wedding at Blackstock Winery, you’re good to go if you are not in the military, but if you are, then watch out. To anyone else, just know it will be a long process to getting anything done because you will spend most of your time waiting on emails. It was unfortunate to have to start over, but it is worth it to find a place that has a wedding coordinator that will make me want to work with her. Lastly, I would like to add I have talked with other staff at Blackstock and they have been so nice and cooperative.
