Best Time To Visit: Chestatee Wildlife is open year round, but Spring and Summer are lovely times to pack a picnic and spend the day.
What You'll Need for Your Visit: We do have soft drink and water vending machines, but on a summer day consider bringing sunblock. Also, since there is an opportunity to pet and feed some animals, hand sanitizer is a good idea for little ones.

Just want to clear up any confusion. Those of you looking for North Georgia Zoo & Petting Farm may come across this website as Chestatee Wildlife Preserve now is also calling themselves North Georgia Zoo and it is confusing people. If you are looking for North Georgia Zoo & Petting farm- the website is North Georgia Zoo DOT Com. The 2 zoos are NOT affiliated in any way. I would prefer Chestatee Wildlife Preserve not calling themselves a North Georgia zoo as I feel it just confuses vistors but since I can't stop that I can help clear up the confusion. The North Georgia Zoo & Petting Farm is only minutes from Dahlonegha and Helen GA. Thanks!

We visited Chestatee Wildlife Zoo on Saturday and my whole family loved it! The animals are awesome especially the tigers and lions. They are very nice and really cater to children. It was a great day trip!
400 North to Highway 52, turn right on Highway 52, turn right on Old Dahlonega Highway at the Zoo sign, a half mile ahead, turn left into the parking lot and a staff member will greet you.
