Conyers most colorful attraction is the yellow Depot once an important stop along the Georgia Railroad route from Augusta to Atlanta. General William T. Sherman marched his troops past this site on his infamous March to the Sea in 1864. Maintained and operated by the Rockdale County Historical Society, the 1891 historic depot, is used today for meetings, weddings, and receptions.
