Located on 72,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake near Augusta, this park is known as one of the finest bass fishing spots in the nation. During the summer, guests can cool down at the beach or on miles of shaded nature trails. Canoes and fishing boats are available for rent, and a wildlife observation area is available. The park has 10 fully equipped cottages on the lake, five of which are log cabins. The campground is situated on a peninsula, offering spectacular views of both sunset and sunrise over the open water. A one-room camper cabin faces the lake, offering a porch with rocking chairs, electricity, four bed platforms, a grill, picnic table and water spigot.

  • Herbs and Wild Edibles at Mistletoe

    5/26/2012

You may be a wild gourmet if you spot a new weed in your yard, and instead of reaching for weed killer you begin wondering if it’s edible! In this program, you’ll not only learn about a lot of wild edibles around us, but you’ll get a chance to sample lots of tasty treats! Leader: Marilyn Grau.

  • Annual Friends of Mistletoe State Park Meeting

    6/5/2012

  • Introduction to Fly Casting at Mistletoe

    6/9/2012

You don’t have to wade in a mountain stream to enjoy fly casting. Come see what it’s all about, and you may be as hooked as the fish you catch! If you have your own fly rod, bring it; if not, come on anyway. We’ll have extras. Register by June 6. $5 parking.

  • Mountain Dulcimer Workshop at Mistletoe

    6/23/2012

Have fun learning to play this beautiful folk instrument, with free, hands-on instruction from members of the Garden City Strummers Dulcimer Club. If you already play, come on to get in on the jam session. Extra instruments are available. Bring a folding chair and meet outside the Nature Center.

  • Creative Camp Cooking at Mistletoe

    6/23/2012

Don’t eat dinner until you’ve stopped by for appetizers cooked up with lots of fun! We’ll fry hamburgers on a flat rock, bake biscuits in a cardboard oven, cook omelets in zip lock bags, roast potatoes in mud, and make desserts to die for! Kids ages 8-80. $5 parking. 706-541-0321.

  • Family Fall Festival at Mistletoe

    10/20/2012

Enjoy a pumpkin scavenger hunt, nature hike, apple bobbing, marshmallow roasting, old-fashioned games, making corn husk dolls, music, and storytelling. Friends of Mistletoe will offer $2 hayrides. $10 per vehicle includes parking. 706-541-0321.
