- Additional Info: Beginning May 1, 2012, Watson Mill Bridge will return to State Park status and the office will be open 8 AM to 5 PM from May 1st until November 30th annually. Reservations for camping and picnic shelters can be made by calling 1-800-864-7275. However, from December - February annually, the office, campground, pioneer sites and group shelter will be closed. The park will be open during this time, but other facilities will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

This bridge is the longest original-site covered bridge in Georgia, spanning 229 feet across the South Fork River. Built in 1885, the bridge is supported by a town lattice truss system held firmly together with wooden pins. At one time, Georgia had more than 200 covered bridges; today, less than 20 remain.
