This annual Bear on the Square Mountain Festival will be an incredible weekend of music and art held in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains the third weekend in April.
During the weekend, old-time and bluegrass music will fill the Historic Public Square in Dahlonega. There will be onstage performances by local, regional and national musicians.
Pre-festival events for the festival will take place on Friday with the start of jamming on Dahlonega’s Historic Public Square, as well as Master Class Workshops in the afternoon and the Live Country Auction that night.
On both days, the juried artist's marketplace known as the Mountain Marketplace will feature traditional mountain crafts will also take place around the square. There will be more jamming on the square and music workshops on Saturday and Sunday, a Sunday morning Gospel Jam, a Saturday evening old-time Mountain Dance and family activities.

The Dahlonega Downtown Development Authority/Main Street Program present the "First Friday Night Concert Series" in downtown Dahlonega's beautiful Hancock Park. The 2012 concerts will be June through October. All concerts are free to the public and begin at 6:30 PM.

The 2012 Dahlonega Appalachian Jam is scheduled for April 28 through October 13. Listeners and musicians alike enjoy the acoustic bluegrass and old time string music on the Public Square from 2 pm until 5 pm every Saturday.

The inaugural North Georgia Chamber Music Festival will feature world class musicians performing on June 15, 17, 22 & 24 at the campus of North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega.

Join us on July 4, 2011 to celebrate the Fourth family-style in Dahlonega on the historic town square - hot dogs, watermelon, parades, flags waving and fun with family and friends while you waited until it got dark enough for the fireworks!

Gold Rush Days are held the third weekend in October, when thousands come to see fall colors peaking and celebrate Dahlonega's 1828 discovery of gold. Over 300 art and craft exhibitors gather around the Public Square and Historic District in support of this annual event!

Begun in 2004, this literary festival features the Don Bacek Literary IQ Quiz and Scavenger Hunt. Come listen to keynote speakers and visit the vendor booths.
