Since 1991, this ride has been sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell. The three rides are open to cyclists and accomplished skaters! Beginning and ending in Hartwell, Georgia (adjacent to beautiful Lake Hartwell and the Georgia/South Carolina border), you'll enjoy riding loops that traverse rolling back country roads with picturesque scenery and minimum traffic. Come for one day or both!
Each day there are 3 different rides and routes through our beautiful countryside. There is the 100 mile, the 100 kilometers and a fun ride 50 kilometers.
Registration will be either by on, by mail or on site starting Friday evening the 25th at 5:00PM.
Location is the Hartwell Family YMCA in Hartwell. Camping on site is available. Several hotels and two Bed & Breakfast Inns are nearby.
Enjoy this spectacular sight or the simple beauty of the wild roadside roses as you ride the Challenge of the Centuries. The Challenge of the Centuries is an official Bicycle Ride Across Georgia 2012 Training Ride!

The 20th Annual Challenge of the Centuries Bike Ride is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell. The ride will be held in May in Hartwell on Lake Hartwell. Come for one day or both & enjoy riding loops that traverse rolling back county roads with picturesque scenery and minimum traffic.

Scarecrow Bash & Monster Mash

The Scarecrow Bash is a month long event in the town of Hartwell starting 10/7.The Monster Mash Festival will take place in the afternoon of October 31st. It is from 3-7pm in the heart of Downtown Hartwell. Look for music, food, games, a candy stroll, vendors and special events for all ages.
