Jon Faddis is a renowned American Jazz trumpet player, conductor, composer and educator. As early as age seven, Faddis exhibited unique ability and skill that set him apart from other students and musicians. Entering the professional music scene at age 18, he became known for his ability to mirror the sound of trumpet icon and personal mentor, Dizzy Gillespie, who said of the young artist “He’s the best ever, including me!” Performing with Faddis will be the Georgia Southern University’s Jazz band, conducted by Dr. William Schmid.
