SAM Shortline Excursion Train travels through southwest Georgia in air-conditioned 1949 vintage cars mixing a taste of the old rural south with todays excitement. This special excursion will make a stop in Americus for guests to visit "Arts in Rylander Park." This family-oriented arts festival includes a performances by the Americus-Sumter High School singers and GSW Jazz Band, the Kiwanis's Childrens' Art Showcase, Piccadilli Puppets, pottery, glass blowing and stilt walkers.

The day's schedule is:
9:30 a.m. Depart Ga. Veterans State Park
10:45 a.m. Arrive Americus at Jackson St. (trolley will carry to Rylander Park - layover 1 hour 10 minutes)
11:55 a.m. Depart Americus Jackson Street
1:05 p.m. Arrive Plains (layover 1 ½ hour)
2:35 p.m. Depart Plains
3:45 p.m. Depart Americus (No stop in Americus)
4:55 p.m. Arrive Ga. Veterans
