the world-renowned canadian forces thunderbirds will fly through the northern georgia skies while performing a breathtaking display of speed, skill, power and precision! flying their nine distinctive red and white ct-114 tutors, the snowbirds serve as canadian forces ambassadors and demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, excellence, discipline and dedication.

formerly known as the heavy metal jet team, black diamond is one of the world’s only non-military jet demonstration teams.  the team’s inaugural season was in 2011, which saw them become the most talked about performers on the air show circuit and a highly sought-after team for air shows in 2012.

 

michael goulian

with almost two decades of experience performing at air shows and races around the country, goulian has earned a reputation as one of the world’s greatest civilian aerobatic performers. his state-of-the-art wheelen extra 330sc helps goulian awe crowds nationwide by allowing him to maneuver at speeds up to 260 miles per hour with a wingspan of 24.4 feet.

in addition to all the aviation fun for the weekend, don’t forget to check out our smoke-n-thunder barbeque classic™ on the air show grounds! the smoke-n-thunder barbeque classic™ is a kansas city barbeque society (ksbs)-sanctioned event, the largest society of barbeque enthusiasts in the world! more than 100 professional and amateur barbeque competitors from across the country will gather to impress the judges with their one-of-a-kind recipes.

 

the competitors will battle it out in the competition booths to show off their chicken, pork, pork ribs and beef brisket recipes, and to compete for a total purse prize of $19,500. the judges are looking for three things: taste, appearance and tenderness. the competition is sure to stir up appetites and provide suspenseful entertainment for air show attendees.
