Enjoy the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains while visiting the Kangaroo Conservation Center! 87-acre wildlife conservation center exhibiting the largest collection of kangaroos outside Australia. OPENING SPRING 2010 - Our newest exhibit "NightHoppers" opens soon, allowing visitors to view the smallest of kangaroos actively exploring their nocturnal habitat.
Explore the "Georgia Outback" to view mobs of kangaroos on the KangaRanger "Ride & Wander" 30 minute narrated tram tour. Wander our hiking trails to enjoy exhibits of Australasian wildlife in beautiful mountain surroundings!
Exhibits include "Fern Valley Trail," a ΒΌ mile hiking path that winds thru an Appalachian Southern Forest where hikers can view our Aussie wildlife, and keep a look-out for native wild animals who roam free. The "Aussie Walkabout" 1/4 mile hiking trail wanders by kangaroo habitats, and the "Billabong Encounter," an immersive exhibit allowing up-close encounters with Australian plants, birds and lizards. The Aussie Outpost offers for sale unique souvenirs, gifts and light snacks.

- What You'll Need for Your Visit -Please dress appropriately for an outdoor active adventure and for current weather conditions. To view all exhibits, activity (walking) is necessary, including mobility on mulched paths and hilly terrain. Also keep in mind that the temperatures in the Northeast Georgia Mountains tend to be 5-10 degrees cooler than the temperatures in Atlanta. A variety of delicious snacks are available for purchase, or bring a picnic lunch and eat in our butterfly garden picnic area. No cooking allowed.
