Rockdale County's Black Shoals Park at Randy Poynter Lake is located in north Rockdale and includes areas for picnicking, hiking, and a 650-acres reservoir. Randy Poynter Lake is a great place for fishing, boating, and canoeing. A fishing pier, bank fishing and a boat ramp are available, as well as, a picnic pavilion. Randy Poynter Lakes serves as the community's drinking water reservoir, therefore, no swimming or gasoline motors are allowed. Electric, sail, row, or man-powered boats are the only vessels allowed. All boats must be off the water at least 30 minutes before park closing.
