The Chattahoochee Nature Center, where ‘nature’ comes alive is located on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell. The newly completed Discovery Center Museum houses a unique “Nature Exchange” for traders as well as a 65 seat high definition theater. The native plant green roof terrace looks out over the 127 acre river front site. Through the River Resource Gallery, this sustainably designed interpretive center brings to life the important, necessary and timely story of understanding and protecting the Chattahoochee River watershed. Stroll through the unique river boardwalk, wetland gardens and freshwater ponds and hike the wooded uplands and garden walkways as you meander through aviaries of rehabilitated eagles, hawks, owls and other native wildlife to experience nature. The Center operates as a community-supported, non-profit environmental education facility, and offers a wide variety of fun and educational programs for families and children. Our most popular events include Creature Features focused on native wildlife, guided canoe trips in season, guided nature hikes, movies and performances in the high definition Cowie Weiss Theater, and the exciting new Nature Exchange. For a perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors, bring your picnic and spend a day at the Chattahoochee Nature Center!
