What You'll Need for Your Visit: Bring comfortable hiking shoes. The Wildlife Sanctuary is built in the hills and dales of the North Georgia Mountains. You should be in good health to take the tour.
The Wildlife Sanctuary is Georgia's largest wild animal rescue, rehab and release facility for cougars, panthers, black bears, lynx, bobcat, deer, fox, squirrels, flying squirrels, opossum, skunk, reptiles and birds of prey. Some animals cannot be released and are permanent residents of the sanctuary. In addition to its lifesaving work, the sanctuary conducts programs to educate young and old alike about the importance of our wild indigenous wildlife. Private tours can be scheduled year-round by calling the office at 706-276-2980. The sanctuary is open to the general public for guided tours every Sunday, June through September from 12 noon until 4 PM. The sanctuary’s wild animal amphitheatre show, Your Wild Friends, at 1:00 pm and 2:30 is held on the second Sunday of each month, June through September. The facility also has on-site bunkhouse and tent camping at Camp Wildlife for 1 to 5 nights, where you might hear some of the wildlife sounds of our nocturnal residents. There are also over a dozen special programs for campers that can be found on our website at www.thewildlifesanctuary.com.

These people really save wild animals and return them to the wild. Worth visiting on a Sunday. Make a donation, too.
