Stone Mountain Park is Georgia’s most visited attraction, drawing nearly 4 million guests each year. With over 3,200 acres of natural beauty, the Park is a unique and fun destination where guests can enjoy the outdoors together, while experiencing an exciting variety of attractions, entertainment and recreation. Check Sky Hike, the nation’s largest family adventure course in the treetops or the all new Yogi Bear 4D Movie. Seen by more than 20 million people for more than 25 years, the Lasershow Spectacular at Stone Mountain Park is the world’s longest running lasershow.  The 45-minute show is considered an Atlanta tradition and is free with parking admission.  MountainVision, creates an even bigger screen and adds a 3rd dimension. Watch as the mountain cracks in half and lava pours out of it. As the three dimensional effects are displayed on the mountain, the Laser Canopy creates a ceiling of light right over guests’ heads, transforming the park into a natural amphitheater. Other attractions guests can experience include: Summit Skyride, Paddlewheel Riverboat, Ride the Ducks, Antebellum Plantation & Farmyard, The Great Barn, Camp Highland Outpost, Scenic Railroad, Great Locomotive Chase Adventure, Geyser Towers,  Golf and museums. Stone Mountain Park is located 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta.

The largest high relief sculpture in the world, the Confederate Memorial Carving, depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War, President Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. The entire carved surface measures three-acres, larger than a football field. At Memorial Hall, visitors can learn how it came to be through exhibits featuring original designs, scale models and the 11-minute feature film The Men Who Carved the Mountain.  Stand beside full-scale replicas of some of the elements of the carving while enjoying a grand view of the memorial itself.

    Great golf course

Played a round on the Stone Mountain golf course. The course played beautifully. Nice pin placements, well kept course and fairways wide enough to be playable for everyone in our group. A great time.

    Can't miss destination in Georgia

Anyone visiting Georgia needs to see Stone Mountain. If you are visiting for the first time, you will be stunned at the size and scope of the carving on the side of the mountain. Words cannot do it justice. Make sure to listen to and read all the informational messages, you'll learn some very interesting tidbits. If you've been in the past but haven't been recently, make sure to visit the village. There are a bunch of interesting shops and eateries to visit there.

Don't miss the train ride either.

During the holiday season, Stone Mountain really lights up. The Polar Express 4D movie is excellent, and there's nothing like a hot chocolate filled with marshmallows to warm cold hands.

    Two Fantastic Golf Courses

There are two fantastic courses to choose from: Lakemont & Stonemont. Both provide great challenges and are perfectly maintained. My only gripe is having to pay to enter and park in Stone Mountain in addition to the greens fee.

    Fun for all ages

Stone Mountain is a lot of fun for people of all ages. The hike is great and you feel so accomplished which you reach the top. It's a beautiful view once you reach the top. And the laser show is very entertaining with great music. Grab your friends and family and spend the day hiking up stone mountain, have a picnic and then enjoy the laser show. Fun fact: The horse's eye on the moutain is 6 ft tall.
