What You'll Need for Your Visit: The Brasstown Bald Summit Trail, which connects the parking area to the Visitor Center and Viewing Platform, is a 0.6 mile paved foot trail. It is very steep. The shuttle service is provided as an alternative to walking the trail. Dogs must be leashed and are not permitted in the Visitor Center
Visitor Center atop Georgia's highest mountain (elevation 4,784 feet). Open 7 days a week late May-October. Facilities at summit, exhibits, video program, observation deck with 360-degree vista. Hike to the summit via 1/2 mile trail or shuttle bus. Gift shop at parking lot. Small fees for parking & shuttle bus. Picnicking, hiking, visitor center & craft shop. The Southern Region's Centennial Quilt will be on dispay April 18-23 in celebration of the Forest Service's 100 year anniversary.

From Blairsville, Georgia take US 19 & 129 south for 8 miles. Turn left (east) onto Georgia 180. Go 9 miles to Georgia Spur 180 and turn left (north). Go 3 miles to the Brasstown Bald parking lot. Please note, some GPS units may display an incorrect location for Brasstown Bald since there is no physical address for the facility. We suggest using the longitude and latitude coordinates for the most accurate location. They are N34.8702, W83.8102. While these coordinates are accurate, this is no garauntee your GPS unit will calculated a route accurately.
