Best Time To Visit: Savannah's year around temperate weather and lush beauty make the city a popular place year around. In the springtime of March and April, Savannah is energized with inbound travelers participating in the Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens, Savannah Music Festival, and St. Patrick's Day festivities. Summer months afford the visitor a far less crowded city for a sultry, coastal town and country experience in semi-tropic climates. Fall is a lazy, high season with pleasant days and nights for outdoor cafes or simply mingling with Savannah's eclectic to classic population ... especially during Savannah Jazz Festival, haunted fascinations of Halloween, and gratitudes of Thanksgiving in the United States' 13th colony -- Savannah EST. 1733. Winter without snow is the reason that tourists love Savannah! The southern city of lights -- said once to become the "best lit city of the south" -- appeals for traditional to modern holiday travelers, especially during Christmas.
What You'll Need for Your Visit: Historic Savannah is one of the most beautiful walking cities in the world, validated again in 2008 as one of the Top Ten U.S. Cities by readers of National Georaphic Traveler magazine. Bring comfortable walking shoes, layer natural fiber clothes, and invite assistance from the knowledgeable and helpful staff at The Presidents' Quarters Inn.
The Presidents’ Quarters Inn is an historic bed and breakfast inn featuring 16 overly-spacious rooms and suites in the heart of Savannah, Georgia’s downtown Landmark Historic District. Twin executive mansions (ca. 1855) mansions have been transformed into a stately, restful, and intimate inn that marries 21st century amenities with old world elegance. Overlooking Oglethorpe Square, Presidents’ Quarters Inn is acclaimed as a place where generals, governors, politicians and business pioneers have shaped Savannah’s and the nation's history. Each one-of-a-kind guest quarters is named to honor a U.S. President who visited Savannah during his presidency. Robert E. Lee and his daughter stayed as the guest of General Alexander Lawton. The inn was a movie location for "Roots," the phenomenally popular TV mini-series. A shaded courtyard, free on-site parking, balconies and private entrances at street level, Wi-Fi, and complimentary afternoon wine and hors d’oeuvres are just a smattering of the inn’s amenities, assuring that every guest’s Savannah experience is extraordinary. A short walk to Savannah’s favorite restaurants, shopping, and the theater district. The owner of President’s Quarters is a lifelong, fourth generation Savannahian; the innkeeper has nearly 13 years of experience owning and managing luxury inns in Savannah. Their goal is to share an authentic, “real” Savannah experience with every guest of Presidents’ Quarters Inn. Praised for its outstanding service, the inn is featured in Southern Living (2009), Delta SKY (2007), Travel Girl Magazine (2008), Fodor's short list of Savannah and Charleston’s Best B&Bs & Inns (2007), Budget Travel (2009), and was chosen Savannah’s Best Bed and Breakfast Inn by Savannah Magazine (2010, 2009 & 2008.)
