The Jekyll Island Museum on Stable Road is your port of entry to the extraordinary past of the Jekyll Island Club National Historic Landmark District. The Jekyll Island Museum manages a wealth of historical, architectural, and archaeological resources along an 11-mile stretch of state-owned coastline, under the stewardship of the Jekyll Island Authority. Museum exhibits include historic photographs drawn from a collection of over 7,000 showcasing the island’s unique heritage, as well as artifacts from the Jekyll Island Club Era and from the archaeological research conducted on the island’s Native American and Colonial past. It also contains a gift shop full of reproduction memorabilia and island souvenirs. From the Jekyll Island Museum you can embark on a journey of discovery; tours of the island and its historic district are led by professional guides who lead adventures into a bygone era. Tours are conducted daily, except for Christmas Day and New Years Day.
