With a history spanning over 30 years, the museum presents various exhibitions each year in seven different gallery spaces. Our exhibition program is designed to reflect diverse cultures, periods, aesthetic styles, and movements. Our AMAzing Space Gallery provides interactive learning through hands-on experiences for children of all ages. The Albany Museum of Art houses an impressive permanent collection which includes one of the largest collections of sub-Saharan African art in the Southeast.

Beginning May 3 through July 21, 2012, the Albany Museum of Art will host an exhibition of art by Dutch painter Henk Pander entitled, “Henk Pander.”
All summer long through August 31, 2012, Albany, Georgia, invites families to get Wet, Wild and Out of This World on a summer getaway package that includes accommodations for one night at one of seven hotels and breakfast the next morning for a family of four and four tickets to each of these attractions: Chehaw animal and adventure park (includes Wild Animal Park); Flint RiverQuarium; Thronateeska Heritage Center (includes Wetherbee Planetarium); Albany Museum of Art; and the Albany Civil Rights Institute.
