Columbus Music and Arts
Full of music and arts, Columbus, Georgia is a thriving town in the heart of the state. For your visit, plan to visit the Springer Opera House, the State Theater of Georgia, where you can take in a Broadway caliber performance, or take a tour of the historic building.
At the River Center for the Performing Arts, you'll find the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
As the birthplace of Ma Rainey, you'll surely want to visit the Black Heritage Trail, which takes visitors on a guided tour of the rich African American legacy in Columbus.
The Columbus Museum is a free attraction featuring American art and regional history.
Located on Broadway, right in the center of downtown, is the Gates House Bed & Breakfast. This beautifully restored B&B is a great choice for your overnight stay in Columbus.
Finally, if you're up for a short drive (about an hour and a half), take a side trip to Americus and visit the Rylander, which was fully restored in 1999, and is home to live performances, concerts, movies, and other special events.
