Shop designers big and small in Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta is known for its fabulous malls. But, the city’s unique retail districts in some of its coolest locales can be exciting off-the-beaten path destinations for shoppers searching for that perfect item for their home, garden or closet.

Westside Market

Feel the “thrill of the hunt” at this 20,000-square-foot slice of design collective heaven. With more than 70 merchants displaying a wealth of treasures – from French Antiques and Hollywood Regency to Classic Modern and Industrial Chic – this cool, eclectic home emporium is full of surprises.

Westside Provision District

Fans of timeless fashion call on husband-wife clothiers Sid Mashburn and Ann Mashburn at their respective shops for tailored, classic clothing and accessories. Star Provisions sources the best in food, wine and gifts for kitchen, home and chef. Across the street at Bungalow Classic is a beautiful collection of carefully curated gifts, decorative accessories and art, along with design services. Looking for something uniquely Atlanta? Check out Atlanta MADE, which features more than 70 local artisans who make everything from screwdrivers to sofas and skin care to sculpture. All local. All the time.

Paris on Ponce

This crazy, funky emporium overflows with original art, mid-century furniture, taxidermy, Victoriana and one-of-a-kind antiques. It is also home to Le Maison Rouge, a red velvet-flocked wallpapered salon just perfect for a reception, special dinner or soiree. It’s also a great spot to watch (or join!) the passing parade of the ever-changing, always-fascinating Atlanta BeltLine Tours

The Decatur Square

Just a few miles from downtown Atlanta is Decatur’s picturesque square and local-centric attitude, where their slogan is “Keep it Indie-Catur.” The family-friendly area is home to scores of cool shops and a hip restaurant scene. Squash Blossom is the go-to place for must-have accessories, clothes and shoes – and is often patrolled by the owner’s black French bulldog. And the charming Little Shop of Stories is a great place for kids and their adults to snuggle up on a comfy couch with a good book. (Bonus: Just about every weekend, there’s a festival of some sort on the square.)

Senoia

This is a picture-perfect town ... IF you don’t mind a few zombies! South of Atlanta, Senoia’s Main Street filled in as Woodbury on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and much of the hit TV show is still shot in the area. Walker Stalkers will love The Woodbury Shoppe, full of licensed TWD merchandise.
