This year's International Cherry Blossom Festival in downtown Macon promises days and nights filled with a variety of fun March 24 - April 2, 2017. Here are 10 events you will want to be sure you don't miss:

Third Street Park Festivities

Enjoy an atmosphere filled with revelry in Third Street Park on weekdays during the festival. There will also be horse-drawn carriage rides, live entertainment, free ice cream and giveaways.

Paws in the Park Dog Show

You'll be able to hear all the "ooos" and "awws" all around Sandy Beach Park as dogs and their owners compete for a number of prizes on March 25.

On March 26 at 4 p.m., watch as downtown Macon streets host a parade filled with floats, marching bands, military units, costumed performers, international dignitaries and more.

Military Tribute Concert featuring the Navy Band Southeast

On March 27 at 7 p.m., the Navy Band Southeast will perform for an evening concert at Wesleyan that is free to the public.

The Butterfly Encounter

See 200 butterflies from six different species daily throughout the festival. Visitors can feed the butterflies and learn how to fix a butterfly's broken wing. 

Cotton Avenue Revival Festival

History and music combine during this two-day festival March 25-26 at the homes and businesses along Cotton Avenue. The churches along Cotton Avenue will be open and giving tours during the event.

March 24 - 26 and March 31 - April 2, this unique opportunity allows visitors to grab a lantern and walk to the Great Temple Mound, see downtown Macon from the top of the mound, and learn about the history of the Native American people that called Ocmulgee home.

Mulberry Street Arts & Crafts Festival

The oldest arts and crafts show in Macon returns for its 47th year April 1-2, 2017. Admission is free.

Street Party

Mavis Staples, Chuck Leavell & The Randall Bramblett Band headline this ticketed event April 1. $20 advanced; $25 day of event. Purchase tickets online or the day of the party at the gates. Rain or shine event.
