You've been wrestling the cold weather for a while now, and spring is just on the horizon. It may be tempting to wish for warmer weather, but these three ideas for winter fun will have you singing February's praises.

Snow Mountain

February is your last month to take on Stone Mountain Park’s 400-foot sledding hill with guaranteed snow fun! New this year, be sure to try Galactic Snow Tubing! Experience 22 color changing, high-powered LED lights PLUS color laser systems for a nighttime tubing experience that is out of this world.

Enjoy Snow Mountain on select dates through Feb. 25, 2018. Galactic tubing begins at 5:30 p.m.

Tybee Island will be dressed in an array of purple, gold and green flags depicting the Tybee Island Mardi Gras celebration. Mardi Gras Tybee will include the Mardi Gras Tybee Parade and the Mardi Gras Tybee Street Party with free live entertainment and more.

The parade begins in the afternoon on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. It's kid-friendly, so bring the family. Be sure to visit the local shops and restaurants along the way.

February is the ideal month for cozying up to a fire in the mountains of North Georgia. Head to Rising Fawn, Ga., (on the northwest border) for great hiking and outdoor excitement. Hike Cloudland Canyon State Park, while you're there.

My favorite accommodations in that area include the Old Blue Chair tiny house, a yurt at Cloudland Canyon or a cabin at Fort Mountain State Park.
