Helen-Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race, June 1-3, 2017

Look to the skies as the United States’ only long distance hot air balloon race rises over the Alpine Village of Helen starting June 1. While the Helen-Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race continues throughout the weekend, other balloonists will compete in events in Helen with balloon flights each day.

Good Neighbor Day Open House Air Show, June 10, 2017

On Saturday, June 10, guests from across the Southeastern United States are invited to gather at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport’s annual Good Neighbor Day and Open House. The event is free to attend, though there is a $10 parking fee.

Celebrate America, June 24, 2017

Visit The Rock Ranch for its annual patriotic event, this year featuring hot air balloons! Enjoy tethered hot air balloon rides, ziplining, rock walk climbing, pony rides and spectacular fireworks.

The first weekend in October, parachute teams and stunt planes will perform for crowds at Russell Regional Airport in Rome. In addition to the high-flying fun, Wings Over North Georgia offers camping and a fireworks show.

Harvest Balloon Festival, Oct. 21, 2017

The shores of Looper Lake in Hall County are home to the Harvest Balloon Festival, which will feature festival fun, pumpkin carving, concerts, food, live entertainment, and more all to benefit local charities.
