No matter how long your trip to Jekyll Island, there is a perfect set of activities waiting for you to dive into. Here is our “Top 10 Must Do” list.


  1. Historic District Tour-90 minute tour including entry into two of the cottages, filled with rich tales and elegant furnishings. Offered year-round at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tours begin at the History Orientation Center. For more information call (912) 635-4036.

  2. Historic Hotel Tour-The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is more than a cherished vacation Resort–it’s a living historic site! With our Concierge as your guide, the Historic Hotel Tour revels the Jekyll Island Club’s century of rich history, including stories passed down over time and walks throughout the Hotel structures, cottages and grounds. Tours are offered Monday-Thursday at 2pm, year round.

  3. Georgia Sea Turtle Center-Through sea turtle rehabilitation, research and education programs, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center increases awareness of habitat and wildlife conservation challenges, promote responsibility for ecosystem health and empower individuals to act locally, regionally, and globally to protect the environment.

  4. Summer Waves Water ParkLoaded with fun for the whole family! From exciting waterslides, wave pool and floating the lazy river, this is the perfect spot for a splashing day of fun in the sun! There’s a special area for younger guests, too.

  5. Jekyll Island Golf-With sixty-three holes, Jekyll Island is the perfect play to stay-and-play! Three 18-hole Jekyll Island golf courses (Oleander, Indian Mound,and Pine Lakes) are centrally located on the Island. The historic Great Dunes 9-hole course, a true links course originally laid out in 1910, is located on the ocean.

  6. Bicycle Rental-Bike riding is one of the most popular activities on Jekyll Island. There are 20 miles of flat paths that wind their way across the entire Island offering a great way to see all its historic sites and natural beauty. Rentals are available through the front desk. Half Day: $10.00 and Full Day: $18.00.

  7. Cumberland Island-Take a day trip to this island operated by the National Park Service, which includes designated wilderness areas, undeveloped beaches, historic sites, cultural ruins, critical habitat and nesting areas, as well as numerous plant and animal communities, including wild horses.

  8. Pool Bar & Grill-While staying at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel a summer vacation is not complete without a day at the Pool. We also have a Pool Bar & Grill that serves up delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chicken sandwiches. Their drink selection is out of this world with tasty frozen delights along with ice cold beers.

  9. Private Beach Pavilion-The Hotel offers a beachfront facility exclusively for guests. Open seasonally, come enjoy burgers, hot dogs, beverages and ice cream overlooking the Atlantic. The Hotel offers a complimentary shuttle for guests.

  10. Dolphin Cruises-Searching for and spotting these playful and graceful creatures in Georgia’s coastal waters is a memorable experience for the whole family.
