Gibson Classic South

The county seat of Glascock County, Gibson is home to the Glascock County Courthouse, one of the sites on the Classic Courthouses of East Central Georgia driving tour. Nearby Hamburg State Park on Hamburg Lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating and camping.

Glascock County was created from Warren County in 1857. Georgia's 122nd county was named for Gen. Thomas Glascock (1790-1841), a statesman who fought in the War of 1812 and the Seminole War. Glascock County Courthouse is part of the Classic Courthouses of East Central GA driving tour.
