The City of Gordon was founded by David Solomon in 1885. A strategically important location during the Civil War, Gordon was a major railroad thoroughfare and target for Sherman’s army.
  • Gordon Depot and Railroad Museum

Stop at the Depot and Railroad Museum, see the old cemetery and original old jail. Gordon is one of the locations where General Sherman’s troops practiced making “bow ties” out of the rail road tracks.
