Griffin and Spalding County has been growing into a community for the arts, ballet, choral music, and drama. The Griffin Area Arts Alliance is an umbrella organization and was a catalyst in restoring the Griffin Auditorium. The 1100 seat facility is the scene of the Griffin Community Concert Association's yearly concert series, the Griffin Ballet Theatre productions, and many other performers and organizations.

Several annual events are the subject of excitement for weeks in advance, drawing families from many communities far and wide. The Kiwanis Spalding County Fair is held each October and attracts both the young and the young at heart to enjoy the excitement of the midway rides and games.

The Griffin Downtown Council sponsors a Signature event twice a year, 4th of July Parade and fireworks, and Christmas Open House, and many other activities to showcase the completed phases of our Main Street City's Streetscape program and the unique architecture of the historic downtown.
