A visit to the Lakemont and Lake Rabun is like stepping back in time. This little mountain community is situated on one of five Georgia Power Lakes. Enjoy the recreation, the scenic beauty, the dining and the shopping. Stop in to the Lakemont Gallery housed in an historic 1910 lodge building, the Corner Cupboard at Seven Oaks, Annie's at Alley's with great market and deli, Mind and Body Haven and Libby Matthews' Studio and Gallery, all of which are located on Historic U.S. 441. You are sure to find a treasure to take home and memories to treasure.
There are a handful of bed and breakfast inns to stay in, all with a true charm of the area. Great for a weeklong vacation or a couple of days retreat. A family can enjoy all that the area has to offer, as well as couples and groups.
