Welcome to Newnan, Georgia! It’s hard to believe that only 30 minutes south of Atlanta you can find a community that embraces the past, yet welcome’s the future. Be sure to stop by the Coweta County Visitors Center for a wealth of information, maps, and brochures to help you explore what this Main Street community has to offer. Newnan, home to country recording artist Alan Jackson is known as the “City of Homes” for good reason as there are six National Register historic districts containing some of Georgia’s most beautiful homes and commercial buildings. Enjoy a driving tour and see the Historic Districts which include antebellum and Victorian homes, 1904 historic courthouse, African American Heritage Museum, Oak Grove Cemetery, The History Depot, and Male Academy Museum. Just a short drive from Newnan, you will want to stroll through Roscoe’s Dunaway Gardens, a breathtaking floral rock garden or relax at Oak Grove Plantation and Gardens. Don’t forget to save time for shopping for antiques and treasures in the historic downtown area and our new Ashley Park. Newnan is also the home of Powers Festival Country Festival held every Labor Day weekend and proud of our newest addition, the Chattahoochee Bend State Park.
