Downtown Cartersville

Historic Downtown Cartersville

The north Georgia town’s train legacy and small-town charm were featured in two Marvel hits: "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2." Wall Street and the historic depot in Cartersville were both used. In the "Spider-Man" film, a high-school aged Peter Parker tries to go back to his normal life after meeting Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers gang in "Captain America: Civil War." And the Guardians are still traveling through time and space to learn the truth about Peter Quill’s background.

"X Men: First Class" was filmed in both England and the United States, including Jekyll Island Beach. In the first installment of prequels about the iconic band of mutants, the group is asked to team up to stop a dictator in the 1960s. The mutants also are coming to terms with their abilities while growing up. The cast is rumored to have stayed on a nearby island during filming.

Porsche Experience Center

"Captain America: Civil War" was filmed throughout Atlanta, but Hapeville’s Porsche Experience Center also was used. The facility includes a visitor center, restaurant and test track where you can learn from Porsche drive coaches. In the film, the Avengers are pitted against one another when Captain America chooses an old friend over his hero gang. "The Gulch" near Philips Arena and Fayetteville's Pinewood Studios also were used as filming locations.

In "Spider-Man: Homecoming," high schooler Peter Parker takes wisdom from Iron Man but can't let his web-slinging alter ego go when a new villain arrives on the scene. Filmed throughout the Atlanta area, a hotel scene was filmed at the Perimeter Center Embassy Suites in Dunwoody. Pinewood Studios and downtown Cartersville also were used, along with the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta hotel in Buckhead and Grady High School near Piedmont Park.
