The University of Georgia Special Collections Libraries acquires, organizes, preserves, and provides access to unique and rare materials related to the history and culture of Georgia.

The Richard B. Russell Jr. Special Collections Libraries Building houses the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, including University Archives, the Richard B. Russell Jr. Library for Political Research and Studies, and the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection.

    The University of Georgia Special Collections Libraries will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the premiere of "Gone With the Wind" with a major exhibit. The UGA Libraries has the largest collection in the country of Mitchell's personal papers and other materials, donated by Mitchell's brother, Stephens Mitchell. The exhibit will remain on display through the end of the year.
