Bea Kuhlke was born and raised in Augusta. After graduating from Georgia Southern College, she began studying painting in Florence, Italy, with Hans J. Staude. She has continued as a studio painter ever since, and taught classes and workshops in this area for more than 25 years.

The paintings in the exhibition are created in acrylic and her supports are gessoed board or canvas. Subject matter represents the world around her: landscapes, seascapes, garden views, birds, dogs, still lifes and figures.

Art exhibitions in the Sacred Heart Art Hall feature local and regional artists working in a variety of mediums and themes. Admission to attend the opening reception and view the artwork is free of charge and open to the public.
