Experience World War II as the 6th Cavalry Museum and community volunteers present a day of living history and remembrance of our Armed Forces. The events will be held on the former parade ground – the polo field of the Army Post at Fort Oglethorpe (1902 – 1946).
Two World War II battle reenactments will be held on the parade field with authentic vehicles and Allied and Axis re-enactors. "S.O.S." or "Stuff on a Shingle" Cook-Off will have local chefs and mess hall cooks dishing up samples of the military's most famous meal. Every adult admission will receive three sample tickets and be able to vote for their favorite rendition of this classic military chow. A full day of activities, displays and living history await you at the 3rd Annual "Remembering Our Heroes."
