The Whitfield-Murray Historical Society announces that its two historic properties in downtown Chatsworth will again be open for tours. Both the Wright Hotel and the Chatsworth Depot will be open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.
Located on First Avenue, south of the City Park, the Depot is Chatsworth's oldest building, constructed in 1905, even before the town was created. It houses a museum of railroad, talc and Chatsworth history.
At the corner of Market Street and Second Avenue, the Wright Hotel was built in 1909 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is furnished much like it was in the first half of the 20th century when it was a beehive of activity, welcoming visitors to Chatsworth who arrived by train.
