In "Slings and Arrows of Outrageous Fortune: Queering Saint Sebastian," Dr. William Eiland traces the evolution of representations of the third-century martyr and saint. Eiland's study focuses on the ways that artists adapted the saint's history and iconography to create a fixture for both Catholic hagiography and may not be suitable for all audiences.
