The Cook County Historical Society Museum and Genealogical Library are a must-visit location for those seeking their South Georgia heritage. Contained in the library are thousands of documents spotlighting the history of hundreds of original family surnames who settled this region after the Land Lotteries of the mid-1800's. The museum contains artifacts dating back to pre-Civil War days, and thousands of photographs from throughout the county's history are available for viewing. Open only on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm, the museum and library are a relaxing trip back into history!
