The Altamaha River is the second-largest watershed on the East Coast and remains completely undammed. Crossed only five times by roads and twice by rail lines, its natural beauty is largely undisturbed. The Altamaha flows 137 miles from its formation by the Oconee and Ocmulgee rivers, north of Hazlehurst, to its delta on the Atlantic coast. Explore the Altamaha River during one of our scheduled canoe trips in June and September.

The Altamaha River was named one of the 75 Last Great Places on Earth by the Nature Conservancy. It is an ideal place to get back to nature whether you are a hunter, fisherman, boater, camper, bird watcher, or hiker.

    Join us for the Three Rivers Cultural Arts Festival at Towns Bluff, held at the Towns Bluff Heritage Center on the historic Altamaha River, eight miles north of Hazlehurst, Ga. on Hwy. 221. We will feature handcrafted arts and crafts, local spring band concerts all day, singers, dancers, food and fun. Visit the RV park and campground with amenities on site.
