The 239th Big Fibbers Storytelling Festival featuring America's favorite fibber Bil Lepp will be held March 19-21 at Berry College. The three-day storytelling event will include adult and youth fibbers, the Big Fibbers contest and a storytelling workshop.

The festival begins March 19 at 7 p.m. with a performance by Bil Lepp in Evans Hall at Berry College. Other performers include Leonard White, winner of the inaugural 2010 Big Fibbers Contest; Gary Greene, an Audience Choice Award winner; and Terrell Shaw, the reigning Big Fibber champion.

Fourteen fibbers will compete in the 239th Big Fibbers Contest on March 20 at 7 p.m. Each storyteller will perform a five-minute tall tale, and Bil Lepp will award the new Big Fibber Champion.

March 21, Bil Lepp will facilitate a "Forging Fibs" workshop for storytellers from 9 a.m. to Noon. Tickets are $35. The Youth Story Slam will be held at 2:30 p.m., during which young fibbers compete for the Youth Fibbers title. The Youth Story Slam is free, but donations at the door will be accepted.

The festival concludes Saturday evening with a Bil Lepp Concert at 8 p.m. The concert will include performances from the champion adult and youth fibbers, who will retell their winning stories.

Three-day tickets are $25, and one-day passes are $10. Purchase tickets at The Last Stop Gift Shop located at 402 Civic Center Drive in Rome. For more details, visit bigfibbers.com and facebook.com/bigfibbers or call (706) 295-5576.
