This challenging hiking trail ascends Rocky Face Mountain, site of the first battle of the Atlanta Campaign on May 8-10, 1864. At the trail's end lies the grave of Confederate volunteer George Disney. In 1912, the grave was discovered by a Dalton Boy Scout troop, who replaced the wooden marker with the marble one seen today.
