Civil War Comes Alive! is a day-long event to celebrate the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War. Activities will be held at Bartow History Museum and Booth Western Art Museum. Visitors will be able to experience what life was like on the home front, listen to authentic music, chat with soldiers from the Union and Confederate armies, view Civil War art and artifacts, watch demonstrations on: cannon, medical, blacksmith, signaling, infantry camps, cavalry camp, sutler and so much more!
On Friday, May 2 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., a Civil War Comes Alive! School Day will take place. This event is appropriate for grades 3-12. Special performances are scheduled for 9:30 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:20 p.m. Cost is $5 for students, $3 for adults, and free for classroom teachers.
