Downtown Eatonton is a non-profit organization that encourages the preservation of Eatonton, Georgia's historical and cultural character through awareness, business development, events, and by using the National Main Street Four Point Approach.
Our downtown has small town charm with successful businesses and happy customers. Downtown Eatonton encourages sustainable growth, tourism, revitalization and preservation of traditional architecture to enhance downtown.
The beautiful town of Eatonton, GA is located in Putnam County, part of Georgia's Lake Country. The Downtown Eatonton organization is part of the national Main Street America, a program of the nonprofit National Main Street Center, Inc., a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Whew! That's a lot to say we "share both a commitment to place and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development."
Downtown Eatonton represents and promotes the diversity of our downtown businesses, and support organizations and individuals that have an interest in or ownership of them.
Our role is to:
act as a hub for relevant news and resources, knowledge and good practices
raise the profile of and support the economic well-being of businesses in downtown Eatonton through various programs - such as our Façade Grant Program and Briar Patch Economic Vitality campaign
support our community by hosting festivals, events and partnerships

Eatonton Main Street will encourage sustainable growth, tourism, revitalization and preservation of traditional architecture to enhance downtown. Eatonton Main Street has been helping revitalize the Downtown commercial districts since 1999. It has gone through various name changes, so you may know it as Better Hometown, Main Street or by its current name, Downtown Eatonton. We share both a commitment to place and to building a stronger community through preservation-based economic development. By using the guiding principles of Design, Promotion, Organization, and Economic Vitality developed by the National Trust For Historic Preservation.
