Andalusia is the home of Flannery O'Connor (1925-64), the renowned
American author. It is at this farm on Highway 441 North that her
creativity thrived.
The Flannery O’Connor-Andalusia Foundation recently opened portions of
undeveloped property to establish the Outdoor Learning Center. Programs
including workshops, lectures and exhibits that explore the natural resources
at Andalusia are often hosted. Learn more about their environmental education
here: http://andalusiafarm.org/andalusia/environmental_edu.htm.
Andalusia also has some recent additions to the farm – two peahens and a
peacock – a staple in O'Connor literature. Andalusia is open on Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and also by
appointment. For information call 478-454-4029 or the Convention & Visitors
Bureau at 800-653-1804.
