Once you have downloaded the Fort Benning Self-Guided Tour, you're on your way to exploring the history and heritage of the former Camp Benning, which is now named Fort Benning "Home of the Manuever Center of Excellence." The map will guide you to 35 unique destinations inside the historic Main Post of Fort Benning. You will learn a little history and see pictures of what the historic site used to look like to compare it with the present day.
Navigate your way through sites on the active Army base, including the original main entrance, the post's first permanent barracks, the Infantry Chapel, the Doughboy Statue, and the Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. Complete the tour by visiting the Lawson Army Airfield and the Federal Road Crossing, which is still used for Army floating bridge training.
